Abstract

The RFID technology is best suited for the implementation of smart library
management system. RFID can perform the read and write both while barcode can perform only reading. There are so many advantages for the organization, librarian and readers by implementing the library based on RFID. It makes tasks easy for the library staff as well as readers. More compound and well-organizedsafetyactions can be executed to guarantee safe transactions in the library. This paper attempts to discuss in detail about the pros and cons of implementing RFID in library and information centres.
