Abstract


Producer Company is a model to mobilize small and marginal farmers as a single unit and facilitate them to move at various steps of agricultural supply and value chain operations. Many development departments or institutes started promoting producer companies on selected commodities. An attempt was made to study the structure and functions of the producer companies and deciding at interventions to include in the model so that strategies can be suggested for effective functioning of this model. This paper discusses about such structural and functional interventions to be included in the producer company model.
