Abstract

The present study was conducted among 100 dairy farmers of two villages of Vellore district of Tamil Nadu to ascertain the effectiveness of short film on preparation and feeding of concentrate feed for technology transfer during June, 2013. Student t test was employed to identify the gain in knowledge and it was found that there was a significant gain in knowledge in quality of ingredients, preparation of concentrates, storage and feeding of concentrates of the respondents and the calculated “t” value (14.41) was greater than tabulated and found significant. Therefore, short film can be incorporated as an extension strategy while undertaking technology transfer programmes among the livestock farmers due to its significant effect on knowledge of rural farmers.
